There are
two mandatory, and
two optional units to be completed for this qualification.Optional units are facilitated to allow students to specialise in different areas of logsitics and transport and to select modules that suite them and their employer.
The two mandatory modules include:
Introduction to logistics, which covers the basics aspects of logistics and some general practices that play an important role in an everyday logistics environment. It also discusses people in the logistics and transport environments, sustainabillity and communications technology.
Introduction to customer service and marketing. This unit introduces the student to the important isue of customer service, and marketing in logistics and transport. Here students will learn the value of customer acquisition, retention and relationship development. The unit also covers the definition of a market, market segmentation, customer behaviour, the development of a marketing plan, and marketing research.
Option modules include introduction to freight transport services, introduction to the planning and operations of freight transport, introduction to warehouse management and inventory management, and finally an introduction to procurement.
The certificate is aimed at people that are new to the fields of logistics and transport, as well as school leavers.
The guided learning hours to complete the qualification is 160 notional hours
